This is our dedicated projects team, part of our larger team of office based advisors and customer service representatives.

Mick Peck - Field Engineer
Mick Peck

Mick started work for ESE in 1976 as a 'lead installer' with responsibility for the running of the sites he was working on and organising of other trade collaboration on our larger projects. He has extensive experience of:

  • mezzanine floors,
  • computer floors,
  • partitioning systems,
  • suspended ceilings,
  • fire barriers,
  • most types of both static and mobile shelving and racking systems,
  • trade counters,
  • cloakroom equipment and lockers
  • and much more!

Mick joined the sales team in 1999 and, with his enthusiasm for problem solving and the depth of knowledge he has gained through real hands-on experience, he is probably the best person you could ask to visit you to advise you on your specific needs. Mick serves East Anglia, the Midlands and Wales.

Steve Fanthorpe - Field Engineer
Steve Fanthorpe

Steve is the "new boy" on the block, having joined us in September 2006. His extensive experience is in both Industrial and Commercial sectors of Materials Handling, such as:

  • document storage,
  • automated storage and retrieval (ASRS) systems,
  • static & mobile shelving,
  • pallet and industrial racking,
  • vertical carousels and lift systems,
  • office & industrial partitions and ceilings
  • and more . . . !

Steve joins our team with over 20 years experience at the sharp end of the industry. This experience has seen him work on small as well as multi-million pound projects, providing the customer with the right solution. Steve serves the Essex, London, Home Counties and South/South West of England regions.

Paul Knights - Project Manager & Specialist Estimator
Paul Knights

Paul started work for ESE in 1977 as an installer and has extensive experience of:

  • most types of both static and mobile shelving and racking systems,
  • cloakroom equipment and lockers,
  • trade counters,
  • partitioning systems,
  • suspended ceilings,
  • mezzanine floors,
  • computer floors,
  • and fire barriers
  • to name just a few!

Paul joined the office-based Projects team in 1999 and, because he has 'actually done' the work he is pricing and organising, he has incredible product knowledge and meticulous attention to detail.

Mark Wilson - Project Co-Ordinator & Specialist Estimator
Mark Wilson

Mark started work in our industry in 1985 as an estimator specialising in:

  • cantilever racking,
  • both static and mobile shelving systems,
  • material handling systems,
  • assembly area organisation,
  • mezzanine floors
  • and more . . . !

Mark joined the office-based Projects team in late 2002 and, with his estimating ability and organisational skills, he provides excellent customer service and full project trackability from the initial enquiry to customer satisfaction follow ups.

Installation Teams

We currently have six teams of very experienced and extremely capable installers, all of whom have been working with us for many years, and have their own specialities.

Our main team joined us in 1985. They come from a building industry background and specialise in high quality demountable partitioning systems, suspended ceilings and timber work like counters and display units. However, they are also extremely experienced in most of the other product ranges we install, such as all shelving & racking systems and cloakroom equipment.

Our second team joined us in 1991. They are from a engineering background and specialise in mobile, static and multi-tier shelving systems, cantilever racking, multi-level complex handling & garment handling systems and racking repairs.

Our remaining teams are very experienced and extremely diverse in their capabilities. Some of the specialities they cover are mezzanine floors, safety barriers and associated steel constructions, industrial partitioning systems, fire barriers and protection, locker and cloakroom equipment, materials handling and mobile, static and multi-level shelving & racking systems as well as racking repairs and the rest of our vast product ranges.

Where appropriate, and given enough notice, we can combine several of the teams to increase the size of the workforce on a given project in order to meet deadlines or to cater for many differing speciality requirements.

Sub-Contract Suppliers

We also have a number of 'pre-approved' sub-contract suppliers for services we do not provide ourselves. We have used these suppliers for many years, and they are all used to working together as part of our team on the projects under our management and control.

The typical services they provide for us are:

  • General building and remedial construction works
  • Painting and Decorating of existing surfaces
  • Electrical installations (including CAT5 cabling)
  • Fire and Intruder alarm systems
  • Plumbing and Heating
  • Air-conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation
  • Flooring and Carpet tiles
  • Aluminium, UPVC and Wooden window and door systems
  • Roller shutter and Sectional overhead door systems
