Overview

Premierack racking

Ensuring that you choose the correct system for your warehouse is essential. It must be right first time. The incorrect choice could prove expensive in both time and money. Whether your application is bespoke or standard, Premierack racking offers a choice of adaptable and variable options. Whatever your storage requirements, Premierack has the solution.

Solutions for a Materials World

Industry leading specifications mean that you can rely on Premierack to meet your needs. Designed and built to exceed current U.K. (S.E.M.A.) and European (F.E.M.) standards, selecting Premierack to provide the solution to your warehousing needs is the correct choice. Often a combination of different racking applications will provide the optimum solution to your logistical problems.

Wide Aisle Adjustable

Wide aisle adjustable pallet racking

Adjustable pallet racking is the most widely used storage system for all palletised and non-palletised loads. Single or double sided runs of racking are separated by wide aisles which can be sized to suit the customer's existing fork-lift trucks.

  • 100% accessibility to individual pallets
  • Highly versatile - adjustable beams mean that the system can be designed to suit all pallet sizes to maximise space utilisation
  • Use of conventional fork-lift trucks - cost effective
  • Easily installed or repositioned
  • Good occupancy rates can be achieved

Double-Deep

Double-deep racking

Double deep racking is created by placing 2 double-sided runs together. Pallets are stored 2 deep and are accessed using special trucks with pantograph or telescopic forks.

  • Greater use of floor space by reducing number of access aisles
  • Not suitable for rapid stock rotation - first pallet in is the last one out
  • Less distance for the fork-lift truck to travel
  • Increased storage capacity
  • Better space utilisation

Narrow Aisle

Narrow aisle racking

Narrow aisle racking consists of the same basic components as conventional racking but with runs placed closer together eliminating the wasted space of a wide aisle. The pallets can be stored to a greater height to maximise all available cubic space. The pallets are accessed via specialist trucks which are guided in the very narrow aisles by either low or high profile floor mounted rails or electronic wire guidance in the floor.

  • 100% accessibility to individual pallets
  • Configuration for maximum storage, density and efficiency
  • Specialist narrow aisle fork-lift trucks are required to work in the reduced aisle
  • Better space utilisation
  • The high cost of the fork-lift truck can often be offset by the added value of better space utilisation
  • Good occupancy rates

Drive-In/Thru Racking

Drive-In Racking

Drive-In racking is used where high density storage is required. It is frequently used in facilities with a low number of product lines. Pallets are stored in a block system with two blocks generally served by one operating aisle. The trucks drive into the racking to load or retrieve pallets, which are stored on cantilevered rails running throughout the system. The first pallet in is the last one out unless a Drive-Through system is used whereby pallets can be loaded or retrieved from either side.

  • High density storage - maximising cubic space - economical with greater number of pallets stored per cubic metre than other storage systems
  • Low stock rotation - suitable for seasonal goods and fluctuating stock demand
  • Ideal for cold and chill storage and bulk storage applications
  • Suitable for easily damaged or fragile loads, which cannot be block stacked

Dynamic Storage

Push Back Racking

Push Back Racking

Push back racking is a form of live storage, based on the Last-In-First-Out (LIFO) principle, where pallets are stored two, three or four deep. This system is ideal where space is at a premium and stock rotation is not an issue.

Pallets are loaded and unloaded from the same face. They are loaded onto a trolley (or rollers) that pushes the other pallets back up a channel rail. When a pallet is retrieved, the remaining ones roll forward into positions. Pallets are therefore accessed from one side only, so a push back system can be mounted against internal walls.

Up to four pallets deep can be mounted using the trolley system and even more if a roller system is used.

  • Quick easy access to all lines
  • Maximum use of floor space
  • Can store a variety of pallet types together
  • Easy to fit—trolleys delivered complete for mounting
  • Load capacity—standard design accepts loads up to 1400 kg
  • Safety—trolleys are linked to prevent pallet runaway
  • Operator ease—empty pallet indicator shows truck driver that further pallets can be stored in the lane
  • Fully zinc plated—can be used in cold store/chill store/bulk storage environments

Pallet Live Storage

Pallet Live Racking

In a pallet live storage application, the pallets are stored in a block system on sloping roller conveyor tracks supported on pallet racking. Pallets are loaded from the top end and roll forward under the force of gravity when a pallet is retrieved from the bottom end. Can be adapted for either pallet or carton applications.

  • First in first out system—provides automatic 100% stock rotation
  • Dense form of storage—more economical
  • Space saving—no intermediate aisles
  • Time saving—one dedicated loading face and one retrieval face means speed of operation in movement of goods around warehouse
  • Safety—separator ensures only one pallet in the output position

Carton Live Storage

Carton Live Racking

Carton live storage provides stock rotation on a strictly First-In First-Out (FIFO) principle and ensures continuous replenishment to match the picking pace. A series of gravity tracks transport products from replenishment aisles to picking faces and provides improved picking systems. It also increases space utilisation and protects pickers against loading equipment.

  • First-In First-Out Operation—100% stock rotation
  • Fully flexible—designed for any carton size and weight
  • Increased picking performance—operator fatigue reduced
  • Ergonomic picking—designs ensure correct & safe picking action
  • 100% product availability—automatic replenishment at pick face
  • Unique roller track design
  • High capacity

Mobile Racking

Mobile racking

Mobile racking is a specialist high density system often designed for long-term storage of pallets or other heavy duty goods. The racking runs are mounted on mobile bases, which run on rails up and down the storage area. The bases are electronically driven and are normally kept closed leaving one aisle for access.

  • Maximum use of floor space - only one operating aisle required
  • Good occupancy rates
  • 100% individual pallet access
  • Particularly suitable for temperature controlled stores
  • Non-specialist handling equipment

Multi-Tier Racking

Multi-Tier racking

Multi-tier racking is created using Premierack adjustable pallet racking. Additional storage floors can be incorporated into the rack with walkways to allow pedestrian access for order picking. This maximises all available headroom and is ideal for storing a wide variety of packaged goods for hand picking.

  • Increases use of cubic space - economical
  • Can accommodate a range of storage requirements
  • Ideal for archive storage
  • Manual order picking applications
  • Can accommodate sophisticated automated picking systems
